What is Image Resizer?
Resize images to exact dimensions for social, ads, products, and web layouts. It accepts JPG, JPEG, PNG, WEBP files and gives you a RESIZED result you can download straight away. The work happens in your browser tab, so the file you choose is not uploaded to our servers.
How to use Image Resizer
- Choose the image to resize.
- Enter the width in pixels. Leave the height empty to keep the original proportions, or fill both boxes for an exact size.
- Pick PNG, JPG or WEBP as the output format.
- Click Convert now, check the preview and download the result.
Format notes
- JPG: A lossy format that suits photographs and produces small files. It does not support transparency.
- JPEG: The same format as JPG (the two extensions are interchangeable). Best for photos, not for logos or screenshots with sharp text.
- PNG: A lossless format that keeps sharp edges and supports transparency, which makes it a good choice for logos, screenshots and graphics. Photos saved as PNG are often much larger than JPG.
- WEBP: A modern web format that is usually smaller than JPG or PNG at similar quality and supports transparency. Supported by all current major browsers.
- RESIZED: The output keeps the original image format at the new dimensions.
Tips for better results
Resize down rather than up. Leave one box empty to keep proportions, and choose JPG or WEBP for photographs to keep the file small.
A worked example
To make a photo 1200 pixels wide for a blog post, type 1200 in the width box, leave height empty and choose JPG. The tool works out the height so the proportions stay right. If you fill in both boxes, the picture is forced to exactly that size and may be stretched.
If something goes wrong
- The picture looks stretched. You entered both width and height with different proportions. Clear the height box so it is calculated automatically.
- The file got bigger. PNG output is lossless and can be large for photos. Choose JPG or WEBP as the output format for photographs.
Privacy and limits
Because processing happens locally, very large files depend on your device's memory and may be slow on older phones. If a conversion fails, try a smaller file or a different browser. See our privacy policy for details on how the site handles data.
