What is Watermark PDF?
Add a text watermark across PDF pages for branding or protection. It accepts PDF files and gives you a PDF result you can download straight away. The work happens in your browser tab, so the file you choose is not uploaded to our servers.
How to use Watermark PDF
- Choose the PDF you want to mark.
- Type the watermark text, for example DRAFT or CONFIDENTIAL, and adjust the size and opacity.
- Click Convert now to stamp the text diagonally across every page.
- Check each page and download the watermarked PDF.
Format notes
- PDF: A fixed-layout document format. Pages keep the same appearance on every device, which makes PDFs ideal for sharing and printing.
Tips for better results
A light, centred diagonal word is easy to read without hiding the content. A watermark discourages casual reuse but is not a security feature.
A worked example
Type DRAFT, keep the size at 64 and opacity at 0.2, and a faint grey diagonal word appears across the centre of every page. Increase the opacity for a stronger stamp, or lower it for long documents people must read closely.
If something goes wrong
- It says the text cannot be used. The built-in font handles basic Latin characters only. Use letters, digits and common punctuation.
- The watermark hides text on dense pages. Lower the opacity or use shorter wording and a smaller size.
Privacy and limits
Because processing happens locally, very large files depend on your device's memory and may be slow on older phones. If a conversion fails, try a smaller file or a different browser. See our privacy policy for details on how the site handles data.
