What is Image Rotator?
Rotate images by preset or custom angles before downloading. It accepts JPG, JPEG, PNG, WEBP files and gives you a ROTATED result you can download straight away. The work happens in your browser tab, so the file you choose is not uploaded to our servers.
How to use Image Rotator
- Choose the image to rotate.
- Enter the number of degrees to rotate the image, for example 90 or 180.
- Click Convert now to apply the rotation.
- Download the rotated image.
Format notes
- JPG: A lossy format that suits photographs and produces small files. It does not support transparency.
- JPEG: The same format as JPG (the two extensions are interchangeable). Best for photos, not for logos or screenshots with sharp text.
- PNG: A lossless format that keeps sharp edges and supports transparency, which makes it a good choice for logos, screenshots and graphics. Photos saved as PNG are often much larger than JPG.
- WEBP: A modern web format that is usually smaller than JPG or PNG at similar quality and supports transparency. Supported by all current major browsers.
Tips for better results
Phone photos sometimes carry a hidden orientation flag that some programs ignore. Rotating and saving the pixels fixes sideways pictures permanently.
A worked example
A scan came out sideways. Enter 90 to turn it clockwise, 180 to turn it upside down, or 270 to turn it the other way, then save the result as a new PNG.
If something goes wrong
- The corners are cut off. Use multiples of 90 degrees. Other angles are not supported properly because the canvas keeps the original shape.
- The picture was already upright in my viewer. Some viewers apply a hidden orientation flag that other programs ignore. Rotate and save the pixels so every program agrees.
Privacy and limits
Because processing happens locally, very large files depend on your device's memory and may be slow on older phones. If a conversion fails, try a smaller file or a different browser. See our privacy policy for details on how the site handles data.
