What is SVG Converter?

Format notes
- SVG: A vector format made of shapes instead of pixels, so it scales without blurring. Rasterising an SVG produces a pixel image at the size you choose.
- PNG: A lossless format that keeps sharp edges and supports transparency, which makes it a good choice for logos, screenshots and graphics. Photos saved as PNG are often much larger than JPG.
Tips for better results
The result is a PNG drawn at the size defined in the SVG, so give your SVG a generous width and height if you need a large picture. Pixel images cannot be enlarged without losing sharpness.
A worked example
You have a 120 by 120 pixel SVG logo but need a 600 by 600 pixel PNG. Edit the width and height attributes in the SVG to 600 first, then convert; otherwise you get a small PNG that blurs when enlarged.
If something goes wrong
- The PNG is tiny. The SVG declares a small size, or has only a viewBox. Set width and height in the SVG file and convert again.
- Text appears in the wrong font. Fonts are not loaded when an SVG is drawn as an image. Convert text to outlines in your design program before exporting.
Privacy and limits
Because processing happens locally, very large files depend on your device's memory and may be slow on older phones. If a conversion fails, try a smaller file or a different browser. See our privacy policy for details on how the site handles data.
